Community Guidelines

Craft Hive exists to uplift artists, makers, and creative spaces of every discipline, emerging or established, with or without a following. These guidelines keep the hive a place worth belonging to. They apply to all profiles, listings, photos, events, and interactions on the platform.

These Guidelines are part of the Terms of Service. Craft Hive may enforce them at its discretion and has no obligation to monitor content. Craft Hive is the venue for these interactions and not a party to any transaction between a Buyer and a Seller. Craft Hive may update these Guidelines, and continued use of the platform after an update means you accept the change.

Be Authentic

• Represent your work honestly. If you made it, say so. If you curate, restore, or teach, describe that accurately.
• Don't claim others' work as your own, use photos of work you didn't create to sell your listings, or misrepresent materials, dimensions, or origins.
• Use your real identity for business: profiles must represent a real person, studio, or organization.

Respect Intellectual Property

• Post only content you own or have permission to use.
• Don't sell items that infringe trademarks or copyrights (counterfeit branded goods, unlicensed character work, copies of another maker's original designs).
• Copying another maker's original work, even by hand, may be removed at Craft Hive's discretion. Rights holders can report infringement via Craft Hive's DMCA process (see Terms of Service).

Be Respectful

• No harassment, hate speech, discrimination, threats, or personal attacks toward anyone, for any reason.
• Critique of work is part of craft culture, but contempt for people is not.
• Respect attendee and buyer privacy: names and contact information you receive as a host or Seller may be used only to fulfill that order or event.

Keep Listings Lawful and Safe

Not allowed on Craft Hive:

• Illegal items or services, recalled or hazardous goods
• Weapons, firearms, firearm parts, ammunition, and any knife the law restricts, such as switchblades or concealed or disguised blades (artisan kitchen and culinary knives are allowed where their sale and shipment are lawful), explosives, or items designed to injure
• Alcohol, tobacco, cannabis, drugs, or drug paraphernalia including nicotine and vaping products and other controlled substances. Craft Hive allows decorative or functional art pieces only when they are lawful and are not marketed or intended for drug use.
• Adult sexual content or services
• Live animals, and products made from ivory, endangered species, or other protected wildlife whose sale or shipment the law restricts.
• Mass-manufactured goods misrepresented as handmade, simple retail arbitrage/dropshipping
• Anything that violates another person's rights or applicable law

Events and classes must be lawful, accurately described, and conducted with reasonable care for attendee safety. Hosts are responsible for their venues, materials, and instruction. This applies to in-person classes, events, RSVP gatherings, studio tours, and multi-session programs and camps. Hosts control the location, the activity, and admission. A host that offers an activity minors attend is responsible for supervision, for any parental or guardian consent the law requires, and for any background checks, licensing, or permits that apply. Craft Hive does not run these activities and does not screen hosts or participants.

Marketplace Integrity

• Honor your listings: ship what you sold, hold the classes you scheduled, or promptly refund/communicate when you can't.
• Keep availability honest: don't use fake scarcity.
• Handle refunds and disputes professionally through your own payment processor. A pattern of unresolved buyer complaints may lead to removal from public view and search results.
• No spam: don't use Craft Hive features (events, listings, RSVP lists) to send unsolicited promotions.

Enforcement

Craft Hive reviews reports and may, at its discretion: request changes, remove content, decline to feature, hide profiles from public view, suspend selling features, or terminate accounts, with severity matched to the violation. Craft Hive aims to be fair and to communicate. Deliberate deception, IP theft, harassment, and safety violations are treated most seriously.

The Spirit of the Thing

These rules boil down to the values the hive was founded on: authenticity, generosity toward fellow makers, honest dealing with buyers, and pride in craft. If you're unsure whether something belongs here, ask Craft Hive. Craft Hive would rather have the conversation early.
