1. Who We Are
Craft Hive Co. ("we," "us") operates crafthiveco.com, a platform connecting artists, makers, and creative spaces with buyers and students. Craft Hive Collective LLC dba Craft Hive Co., 18000 Studebaker Road, Suite 700, Cerritos, CA 90703. Contact: admin@crafthiveco.com. By using Craft Hive, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. California law governs this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Craft Hive provides this notice at or before the point of collection, as California law requires. The categories below identify the personal information Craft Hive collects and the purpose of each. Craft Hive does not collect sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, government identifiers, precise geolocation, or financial account numbers.
Account information: email address, password (stored as a secure hash by our authentication provider), display name, and optionally your full legal name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and basic profile information from Google.
Profile information (Sellers): everything you choose to publish, including display name, bio, "about" story, craft medias and specialties, city and state, website and social links, photos, and listings (products, classes, events, membership plans). Public profile content is visible to anyone on the internet.
Transaction information: when you buy from a Seller, payment is processed by Stripe on the Seller's own Stripe account, and we never receive or store card numbers. We record order details: what was purchased, quantities, prices, the Seller, and the buyer name provided at checkout. When Sellers subscribe to Craft Hive Pro, Stripe processes the payment for us and we store subscription status identifiers.
Names for attendance: when you register or RSVP for a class or event, your name is shared with the host so they can manage attendance. When you request a studio tour, Craft Hive collects your name, the time you request, and any note you add, and shares them with the host so the host can arrange the visit.
Approximate location: Seller locations are stored as city-level coordinates derived from the city/state they enter, never street addresses. If you use "Near me" search, your browser's location is used only in your session to calculate distances and is not stored by us.
Usage and technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) and authentication session data. We use Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate site usage (such as page views and general traffic patterns); it does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifying information.
3. How We Use Information
- Operate the platform: profiles, discovery/search, purchases, rosters, subscriptions, saved items, RSVPs.
- Communicate with you: transactional emails (confirmation, password reset, invitations) and, if you opt in, a newsletter.
- Safety and integrity: moderation, fraud prevention, enforcing our Terms.
- Improve the platform.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.
4. How Information Is Shared
Craft Hive shares personal information only with the categories of recipients described below. Craft Hive does not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing.
- Publicly: Seller profile content and listings are public by design. Client accounts have no public profile.
- Between users: Sellers see the names of their buyers, registrants, RSVPs, and members, solely to fulfill those orders and manage attendance; our Terms prohibit other use. Buyers see Sellers' public information.
- Service providers (processors): Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Stripe (payments and subscriptions), Vercel (hosting), Google (optional sign-in), Resend (transactional email and newsletters). Each receives only what it needs to provide its service. Each service provider receives personal information only to perform services for Craft Hive and is bound by contract to protect that information and use it only for those services, as California law requires.
- Our staff: authorized personnel may access account and order information for support, moderation, and operations purposes, under confidentiality obligations.
- Legal: we may disclose information when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the platform.
- Business transfers: if Craft Hive is acquired or merged, information may transfer with the business, subject to this policy.
5. Data Retention and Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard; deletion is immediate and permanent for your profile, photos, listings, saves, and RSVPs. We retain limited transaction records after deletion: purchase history for buyers (including the departed Seller's shop name) and sales records for Sellers (including the departed buyer's name and items), retained because receipts and sales ledgers serve the other party's legitimate interests and legal obligations. Backup copies may persist for a limited period in our infrastructure providers' systems before being purged. Craft Hive keeps each category of personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce its agreements. When personal information is no longer needed, Craft Hive deletes or anonymizes it.
6. Your Privacy Rights
California residents: California law gives you the ability to review the personal information Craft Hive holds about you and to request changes to it. You can review and update most of your information at any time from your account settings, including your profile details, listings, and saved items. To request access to other information Craft Hive holds about you, or to request a correction, email admin@crafthiveco.com. Craft Hive verifies your identity before acting on a request and responds within a reasonable time. Craft Hive does not sell your personal information and does not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Other jurisdictions: users in other states or countries may have similar rights under local law; contact us to exercise them.
7. Security
We use industry-standard providers and practices: encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, database access controls (row-level security), and least-privilege staff access. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password.
8. Children
Craft Hive is not directed to children, and use of the platform requires you to be 18 or older. Craft Hive does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Craft Hive does not create accounts for, market to, or knowingly permit registration by children under 13. If Craft Hive learns that it has collected personal information from a child under 13, it will delete that information promptly. A parent or guardian who believes a child under 13 may have provided personal information to Craft Hive can email admin@crafthiveco.com to request its deletion.
9. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies strictly necessary to keep you signed in and operate the platform (authentication/session cookies). Craft Hive does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If Craft Hive adds analytics or marketing cookies later, it will update this policy and, where the law requires, provide a cookie notice and a consent option.
10. Changes
We will post updates here and, for material changes, notify you by email and/or platform notice before they take effect. For a material change, Craft Hive will notify you by email to the address on your account at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The effective date appears at the top of this policy.
11. How Craft Hive Processes Payments
Craft Hive uses Stripe to process payments. Your card information goes directly to Stripe and is never stored on Craft Hive's servers. Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy. For Seller sales, payment is processed on the Seller's own Stripe account. For Craft Hive Pro subscriptions, Stripe processes the payment for Craft Hive, which stores only subscription status identifiers. Craft Hive does not store full card numbers, security codes, or bank account details.
12. Marketing Communications
If Craft Hive sends promotional email, each message includes an unsubscribe link. To opt out, follow the unsubscribe instructions in any promotional email or email admin@crafthiveco.com. Craft Hive processes opt-out requests within 10 business days. Opting out of promotional email does not stop transactional messages about your account or purchases, such as confirmations and password resets.
13. Do Not Track and Third-Party Tracking
Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. No common standard exists for how to respond, so Craft Hive does not respond to Do Not Track signals at this time. Craft Hive does not allow third parties to collect personal information about your activity across other websites when you use Craft Hive. Craft Hive uses Vercel Analytics for aggregate usage measurement, which does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifying information.
