Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-07-21
1. What Craft Hive Co. Is
Craft Hive Co. ("Craft Hive," "we," "us") operates an online platform at crafthiveco.com where artists, makers, and creative spaces ("Sellers") create public profiles, showcase their work, and offer products, classes, events, and memberships, and where visitors and registered clients ("Buyers") can discover them. The company that operates Craft Hive is Craft Hive Collective LLC, a California limited liability company doing business as Craft Hive Co. References to Craft Hive, we, and us mean Craft Hive Collective LLC.
Craft Hive is a directory and subscription software service. It is not a store, marketplace intermediary, or party to any sale. When you buy something from a Seller on Craft Hive, your transaction is directly with that Seller, processed through the Seller's own Stripe account. We do not process, hold, or take any portion of payments between Buyers and Sellers.
2. Accounts and Eligibility
You accept these Terms when you create an account, whether you sign up by email or through Google sign-in. Craft Hive records the version of these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Community Guidelines you accept and the date of acceptance. Acceptance through Google sign-in has the same effect as acceptance at email signup.
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account of any kind.
- You are responsible for your account credentials and all activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information, including your legal name where requested (for example, when registering for a class or event, so hosts have accurate attendance records).
- We may suspend, hide, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
3. Seller Terms
3.1 Subscriptions
Sellers may use a free profile tier or purchase a paid subscription ("Pro"): currently $19.99/month for Artists, $49.99/month for Creative Spaces. Subscriptions are billed by Craft Hive through Stripe, renew automatically until canceled, and can be canceled anytime through the billing portal in your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable. You can cancel at any time, at will, using a direct cancellation link in your dashboard billing portal, without calling, emailing, or completing any additional step. Craft Hive will give you notice of any price change not less than 7 and not more than 30 days before it takes effect, along with information on how to cancel. If you do not cancel, the new price applies at your next renewal. See Section 15 for California automatic renewal terms. If you subscribe under a promotional or founding-member offer, the price stated in that offer applies for the period stated in the offer, and a general price change does not apply to you during that period. A founding-member rate applies only while your subscription stays continuously active, and it ends if you cancel.
3.2 Selling Through Your Own Stripe Account
To sell products, paid classes, paid event tickets, or memberships, Sellers must connect their own Stripe account and agree to Stripe's terms, including the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. You (not Craft Hive) are the merchant of record for your sales. You are solely responsible for:
- The accuracy of your listings, pricing, and inventory;
- Fulfilling orders, shipping, and local pickup arrangements;
- Refunds, cancellations, chargebacks, and disputes with your Buyers;
- Collecting and remitting any applicable sales taxes;
- Complying with all laws applicable to your products, classes, and events;
- The conduct and safety of classes, workshops, and events you host.
Craft Hive takes no commission on Seller sales. Stripe's processing fees apply to Sellers per Stripe's pricing.
3.3 Memberships Offered by Creative Spaces
Creative Spaces may offer recurring or one-time membership plans billed through the Space's own Stripe account. The membership relationship is solely between the Space and the member. Recurring memberships renew automatically until canceled; members may cancel through the payment confirmation and receipt communications provided by Stripe, or by contacting the Space directly. If a Space closes its Craft Hive account, existing member subscriptions billed through the Space's Stripe account are not automatically canceled: the Space is responsible for canceling them. Because a Creative Space bills its memberships, the Space is the business responsible for complying with California's automatic renewal law for those memberships. That includes clear and conspicuous renewal disclosures before purchase, the member's affirmative consent, an acknowledgment the member can keep, an easy online cancellation method, annual reminders for annual plans, and advance notice of any fee change. Craft Hive is not the seller of these memberships and does not process their payments. A Space may attach its own membership terms, covering what is included, cancellation, automatic renewal, and house rules. Craft Hive shows these terms at purchase, records the member's acceptance, and displays the terms on the membership record for both parties. The Space must include the cancellation and automatic renewal disclosures that California's automatic renewal law requires.
3.4 Your Content
You retain ownership of the content you post (photos, text, listings). You grant Craft Hive a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and promote that content in connection with operating and marketing the platform (for example, featuring your profile on our homepage or social media). You represent that you own or have rights to everything you post and that it does not infringe anyone's intellectual property or other rights.
3.5 Seller Refund, Return, and Cancellation Policies
Each Seller sets its own refund, return, and cancellation policy, with a default policy and any per-item overrides. Craft Hive shows the policy that applies before purchase. Where the Seller requires it, the Buyer accepts the policy at checkout, and Craft Hive records that acceptance with a timestamp. Craft Hive saves the policy in effect at the time of purchase onto the order, so a later change by the Seller does not change the terms of a completed purchase. The Seller's policy governs that transaction, and Craft Hive is not a party to any refund, return, or cancellation dispute between a Buyer and a Seller.
A Seller must honor the policy it presents. A Seller must state clearly any policy that limits refunds, such as all sales final, and may not set a policy that violates applicable law or waives a consumer right that cannot be waived.
4. Buyer Terms
- Browsing is open to everyone; purchasing, saving, and RSVPs require a free account.
- All purchases are made directly from Sellers. Craft Hive does not guarantee any product, class, event, or membership, and is not responsible for quality, safety, legality, fulfillment, or accuracy of listings.
- Refund and cancellation requests must be directed to the Seller. Payment disputes are handled through the Seller's payment processor (Stripe) and your card issuer. The Seller's posted refund, return, and cancellation policy governs your purchase, as described in Section 3.5.
- Event and class attendance is at your own risk; hosts are responsible for their venues and activities. You accept the assumption of risk and release described in Section 17.
5. RSVPs, Capacity, and Availability
Listings may show limited stock, seats, or membership slots. Availability shown on the platform is informational and may lag actual availability; the Seller's confirmation controls. Craft Hive is not liable for overselling, cancellations, or event changes.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Post content that is unlawful, infringing, deceptive, hateful, or harassing (see Community Guidelines);
- Misrepresent handmade origin, authorship, or affiliation;
- Circumvent the platform's security, scrape data at scale, or misuse other users' personal information (including attendee names and buyer information visible to Sellers, which may be used only for fulfilling the related order, class, event, or membership);
- List items or services that are illegal, recalled, hazardous, or that infringe third-party rights;
- Use the platform to send spam or unsolicited commercial messages.
- Impersonate any person or business, or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or business.
- Interfere with or disrupt the platform, its servers, or its networks, or try to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or data.
- Introduce any virus, malware, or other harmful code.
- Harvest or collect email addresses or personal information of other users for marketing or any unauthorized purpose.
- Advertise or solicit users to buy or sell unrelated products or services, or to make donations, without Craft Hive's written permission.
7. Content Moderation
We may remove content, hide profiles from public view, decline to feature anyone, or terminate accounts at our discretion, particularly for violations of these Terms or the Community Guidelines. Hiding a profile does not by itself cancel a Seller's subscription; a Seller whose profile is hidden may contact us or cancel through the billing portal.
8. Intellectual Property Complaints (DMCA)
If you believe content on Craft Hive infringes your copyright, send a notice to DMCA Agent, Craft Hive Collective LLC dba Craft Hive Co., dmca@crafthiveco.com, or by mail to 18000 Studebaker Road, Suite 700, Cerritos, CA 90703 including: identification of the work, the infringing material's location (URL), your contact information, a good-faith statement, a statement of accuracy under penalty of perjury, and your physical or electronic signature. We will respond to valid notices, including removing material and, for repeat infringers, terminating accounts. If your content is removed, you may send a counter-notice with the same information and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification. Craft Hive maintains a policy of terminating repeat infringers. Craft Hive's designated copyright agent is DMCA Agent, Craft Hive Collective LLC dba Craft Hive Co., dmca@crafthiveco.com, 18000 Studebaker Road, Suite 700, Cerritos, CA 90703, registered with the U.S. Copyright Office.
9. Account Deletion and Record Retention
You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard. Deletion is permanent and immediate: your profile, listings, photos, saves, and RSVPs are removed, and any Craft Hive Pro subscription is canceled. Transaction records are retained in limited form: Buyers keep records of their past purchases (including the Seller's shop name), and Sellers keep records of their past sales (including the buyer's name and items purchased), even after the other party deletes their account. Connected Stripe accounts belong to Sellers and are unaffected by Craft Hive account deletion.
10. Disclaimers
THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION, OR THE CONDUCT OF ANY USER, SELLER, OR BUYER.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CRAFT HIVE'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE PLATFORM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) $100. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR THE ACTS OR OMISSIONS OF SELLERS, BUYERS, OR EVENT HOSTS. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud, for a party's own gross negligence or willful misconduct, or for statutory consumer rights that cannot be waived. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so parts of the above may not apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Craft Hive and its owners, officers, and agents harmless from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your listings, products, classes, events, memberships, content, your use of the platform, or your violation of these Terms, any law, or any third-party right. Craft Hive will notify you of the claim and may participate in the defense with counsel of its choice.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
Informal resolution first. Before starting arbitration, you agree to contact Craft Hive at admin@crafthiveco.com and give Craft Hive 30 days to resolve the dispute.
Binding arbitration. Except as stated below, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the platform will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will take place in the county where you live or by video, at your choice. The arbitrator decides all issues, except that a court decides whether this arbitration agreement is enforceable.
Class action waiver. You and Craft Hive agree to bring claims only in an individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, or representative proceeding.
Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court. Either party may ask a court for relief to protect intellectual property. Nothing in this section waives any right to seek public injunctive relief in court to the extent that right cannot be waived under California law.
Opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to admin@crafthiveco.com within 30 days after you first accept these Terms. If you opt out, or for any claim not subject to arbitration, the state and federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California have exclusive jurisdiction, and you and Craft Hive consent to personal jurisdiction there.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced by email and/or a notice on the platform at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
15. Renewal Terms
Craft Hive Pro subscriptions and any other recurring plan Craft Hive bills to you are automatic renewal programs under California law (California Business and Professions Code sections 17600 through 17606). The terms below apply to those plans.
Automatic renewal. Your subscription continues and renews automatically at the then-current price for the same billing period until you cancel. Craft Hive presents these renewal terms to you before you subscribe and charges your payment method only after you give affirmative consent at checkout.
Recurring charges. Craft Hive charges the subscription fee shown at checkout to the payment method on file at the start of each billing period. Current pricing is $19.99 per month for Artists and $49.99 per month for Creative Spaces.
How to cancel. You can cancel at any time, at will, through a direct cancellation link in your dashboard billing portal, without calling, emailing, or completing any retention step. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Craft Hive does not provide prorated refunds for the current period unless the law requires it.
Acknowledgment. After you subscribe, Craft Hive sends you a confirmation that states the renewal terms, the cancellation policy, and how to cancel, in a form you can keep.
Price and term changes. Craft Hive will give you notice of any fee change not less than 7 and not more than 30 days before it takes effect, along with information on how to cancel. Craft Hive will give you notice of any material change to the renewal terms before it takes effect.
Annual reminders. If you hold an annual subscription, Craft Hive sends you a reminder each year that identifies the subscription, the amount and frequency of charges, and how to cancel.
Free trials and promotional pricing. If Craft Hive offers a free trial or promotional price that lasts more than 31 days, Craft Hive sends you a reminder 3 to 21 days before it ends, stating the price that applies afterward and how to cancel.
16. Account Security
You are responsible for keeping your username and password confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify Craft Hive promptly at admin@crafthiveco.com of any unauthorized use or security breach. Craft Hive is not liable for loss arising from your failure to protect your account credentials. Craft Hive may suspend or terminate an account if it has reason to believe the account information is false or that the account is being used in violation of these Terms or the law.
17. Assumption of Risk for Classes and Events
Classes, workshops, and events listed on Craft Hive are organized and run by Sellers, not by Craft Hive. If you attend or participate, you do so at your own risk. Craft Hive does not inspect venues, supervise activities, or control the conduct of hosts or attendees. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release Craft Hive from claims for injury, loss, or damage arising out of any class, workshop, or event, and you agree that the host, not Craft Hive, is responsible for the safety and lawful conduct of the activity. This release does not apply to any liability that cannot be released under California law. This Section applies to every in-person activity a Seller offers through Craft Hive, including paid classes and events, free RSVP events, studio tours, and multi-session programs, camps, and residencies. The Seller, not Craft Hive, controls the location, the activity, and admission. For any activity that minors attend, the Seller is responsible for supervision and safety, for obtaining any parental or guardian consent the law requires, and for any background checks, licensing, or permits that apply. Craft Hive does not run these activities, does not verify the age or identity of participants or hosts, and does not conduct background checks. Account holders must be 18 or older and are responsible for anyone they register, including a minor.
18. Survival
The sections on content licenses, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, dispute resolution, and any provision that by its nature should survive will survive termination or deletion of your account.
19. Assignment
You may not assign these Terms without Craft Hive's prior written consent. Craft Hive may assign these Terms to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms bind and benefit the parties and their permitted successors and assigns.
20. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will stay in full force.
21. Entire Agreement
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any terms presented at purchase are the entire agreement between you and Craft Hive about the platform, and replace any prior agreements on that subject.
22. Force Majeure
Craft Hive is not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, outages of third-party services such as Stripe or hosting providers, labor disputes, or government action.
23. Notices
Craft Hive may send you notices by email to the address on your account or by posting on the platform. You are responsible for keeping your email address current. Send notices to Craft Hive to admin@crafthiveco.com.
24. California Privacy Rights
Craft Hive collects and uses personal information as described in the Privacy Policy. Please view our Privacy Policy by clicking here.
